Annie Duke had her first big poker win in 1994. She placed 13th winning $70,000 and had only played professionally for less than one month. Her brother urged Annie Duke to compete in the 1994 WSOP after winning enough money at local poker rooms to pay her family’s mortgage. Shortly after, in 2004 she took 10th place at the WSOP while eight months pregnant with her third baby. She won her first WSOP bracelet in 2004 along with a winner take all prize of $2,000,000. Annie Duke has more “in the money” wins than any other female poker player in WSOP history.
Not only is Annie Duke one of the best female poker players on earth, she is also a mother of four, an author, and even appeared on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’. She has also taught Ben Affleck to play poker and even creating a teaching DVD.
