Before becoming a poker star, Daniel Negreanu was a professional pool player. He didn’t achieve his personal goals playing pool so he started playing illegal poker games in Toronto, Canada. Shortly after, at the age of 23, Daniel Negreanu entered the World Series of Poker for the very first time. He actually won a bracelet in the Pot Limit Texas Hold’em. He became the youngest world champion in the history of the WSOP. In 1999, Daniel Negreanu joined the United States Poker Championship beating all of the other players with a huge stack. He later finished 11th at the World Series of Poker Main No-Limit Event. After several more big wins, Daniel Negreanu was named the Player of The Year by ESPN and named The Best Player in The World by CardPlayer Magazine.
Daniel Negreanu not only is one of the worlds best poker players, he’s also an author, professional columnist, and poker teacher. He tutored actor Toby Maguire in poker lessons. Rumor has it Toby paid Daniel a large amount of money for the lessons.
