Pham is the cousin of Men "The Master" Nguyen, another poker pro who taught him how to play. Both cousins are known for their generosity, especially for donating to charities in their home country. Pham fled Vietnam for a better life and, after finding one, he is committed to sharing his good fortune with others.
Pham won his first WSOP bracelet in 2001 for the S.H.O.E event; that same year he finished in the money at the WSOP main event where he took 44th place. He won his 2nd WSOP bracelet in 2006 when he won the No Limit Hold'em Shoot-out event. Pham also enjoys a great deal of success playing in World Poker Tour events. He won more than $182,000 when he took 3rd place during Season 5 of the WPT No Limit Hold'em Championship. Two months later, Season 6 brought him a 1st place win at the WPT Heads Up – No Limit Hold'em which earned him more than $135,000.
