Chris Ferguson 5 to 1 odds to outlast other WSOP Main Event ChampsChris Ferguson is a world-famous poker player and one of the most interesting players on and off the poker tables. He won the 2000 WSOP main event, pocketing $1.5 million and as of 2007, his poker winnings exceed $5.8 million. Bodog.com has Chris Ferguson at 5 to 1 odds to outlast other former WSOP Champs in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event.

Ferguson is an analytical player, having been raised in a home where mathematics and game playing were staples. His mother has a Ph.D in mathematics and his father teaches statistics and game-playing at UCLA.

Ferguson earned his own Ph.D in computer science after 13 years as a graduate student at UCLA. He has developed computer simulations to help him in his game and undoubtedly has a strong knowledge of game theory. As intelligent as he is though, Ferguson admits to wearing a cowboy hat and sunglasses during poker play to detract from his academic image. His nickname is "Jesus" not surprisingly, because of his long brown hair and beard.

Chris Ferguson has won five of the coveted WSOP bracelets and once took on a personal challenge to turn $1 into $20,000 playing online poker. It took him six months, but he succeeded. After that, he challenged himself to turn $0 into $10,000 the same way.

Ferguson is a ladies man as you can tell by the his photo above with Gambling911.com's sexy reporter Jenny Woo . He is also an ardent swing dancer and spent much of the time dancing the night away during the 2006 WSOP. He ran the UCLA ballroom dance club for 3 years and confesses to knowing all of the ballroom dances, though swing seems to be his favorite. His other interests include day trading and card throwing. In fact, so adept is he at card throwing, he can cut through bananas, carrots, and melons at a distance of 10 feet.

Bodog.com has posted WSOP odds on which of the following former Main Event Champions will last longer in the 2007 $10,000 buy-in Main Event?

Jamie Gold: 10/1
