Day 1 will be split into two days with the first half of entries playing on January 5th and the second group of players on January 6th. The tournament format will be constructed as a no-limit Texas Hold’em style event without re-buys. The combined entry fee and buy-in fee is $8,000. The legal age to play poker in the Bahamas is 18, so this may be the youngest field ever seen on the WPT.

724 players showed up last year for a prize pool worth $5,647,200 and a $1,363,100 first prize. Business and science student Steve Paul-Ambrose from the University of Waterloo in Canada took the title.  It just so happens that Calvin Ayre, Founder & CEO of Bodog.com graduated from teh same university.

The Atlantis Resort is a spectacular watercolor masterpiece along one of the world’s most gorgeous white, sandy beaches. It is around 10 miles from Nassau airport and one mile from downtown Nassau. It features the largest marine habitat in the world all on a 34-acre waterscape with over 200 species of tropical fish, giant aquariums, 11 lagoons, waterfalls, swimming pools, streams, lazy rivers, water slides and miles of sandy beaches.

You can swim, wade and interact with dolphins, go snorkeling and water skiing. Take pleasure in artificial coral reefs, an underwater tunnel for shark observation and an underground maze of corridors and viewing tanks containing sea creatures.

Enjoy some fun in the sun and make sure you also bring sun block so you don’t end up sunburnt like Mike Sexton just in case you bust out early.  If you don't make it to the Bahamas you can check back here for the results from the PokerStars.com Caribbean Poker Adventure.
