World Series of Poker Main Event field loses Jennifer Harman

World Series of Poker Main Event field loses Jennifer HarmanProfessional female poker player Jennifer Harman was eliminated from the World Series of Poker Man Event Day 1b by a pair of 10’s over 4’s. Sportsbook.com had made Jennifer Harman +650 odds long shot to win the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event.

A short stacked Harman moved all in on a flop of 9h/3h/3d, holding Ah/4h and was called by Deanna Duzier who showed a pair of tens. The 4c on the turn gave Harman a couple of additional outs, but the river blanked off, and she was eliminated from the 2007 World Series of Poker.

Jennifer Harman was born on November 20, 1964 in Reno, Nevada. Growing up in a city that is all too familiar with the game of poker, she was quickly able to establish a reputation as a cash game player. She has also been able to forge a name for herself in the tournament world, winning against several big name players.

Harman won her first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2000, at the No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball event at a final table that also included many of these big names. The most amazing fact, however, is that she had never played in that game prior to this event. While it is true that much of poker is based on luck, there is definitely strategy that must be used, and Harman was able to quickly figure out just how to make this happen.

After receiving a quick five minute tutoring session from Howard Lederer just before the event, she went out and made it happen. During this tutoring session, Harman was given instructions on how the game is played, and the strategy needed to win. She paid close attention and made that happen.

She won her second World Series of Poker bracelet in 2002 at the $5K LimitHold’Em event. Here, her opponents also included many great names in the profession, and again, Harman was able to rise above and stake her claim. She is currently the only woman to hold two bracelets in the World Series of Poker open events

After taking some time off to deal with health-related issues, he returned to the poker circuit for more wins. She is the only female player who is a regular in the “big game”, and is considered by many to be the world’s best female poker player.
