Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has selected Senator Joe Biden of Delaware as his Vice President Running Mate for the 2008 Democratic Ticket. The selection of Joe Biden as Vice President will shore up the Democratic ticket’s foreign policy and national security experience and will help the party retain a majority of Hillary Clinton supporters in the crucial 2008 Presidential Race. The two Senators will be campaigning together for the first time at 1 PM EST today in Springfield, Illinois. Bet on the 2008 Presidential Race at Bookmaker.com.While the Obama campaign was hoping to let their supporters learn about Biden being selected as the Vice President via text messages, the media soon broke the news after realizing that Biden was the only potential candidate to have a Secret Service detail late on Friday night. The text messages are scheduled to go out in a few hours later on Saturday morning. Prediction markets were very accurate in predicting who would be named Barack Obama’s Democratic Vice President Running Mate before the announcement was made today. Point-Spreads.com was visiting Bookmaker.com this past Wednesday along with Gambling911.com when CEO Mickey Richardson declared, "Joe Biden will be named the Vice Presidential Nominee for the Democrats based on the action coming in." Bookmaker.com had opened up their Vice Presidential betting markets with Biden the favorite. Several bookmakers pulled Biden's odds on Friday, which were listed as long as 7.5 to 1 odds with BodogLife.com on August 1st, 2008. When pulled off the board, Joe Biden was listed at +300 odds to be selected the Vice Presidential candidate for the Democratic ticket in 2008. Some issues that will need to be overcome by the Obama/Biden ticket will be the fact that Joe Biden authorized President Bush to go to war with Iraq and Biden also originally wanted Iraq to be partitioned between the Kurds, Shia and Sunni's. Most political experts believe these challenges will be easily overcome. Senator Joe Biden of Delaware is 65 years old and a 6 term senator that currently sits as the Chairman Senate Foreign Relation Committee and sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. The presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona is expected to announce his Vice Presidential Running Mate on August 29th, 2008.
