Delaware Senator Joseph Biden has announced his intentions to run for President of the United States in 2008.
"It is my intention to seek the nomination, and it's my intention sometime in the month of January to set up the appropriate mechanism to be able to raise money for that purpose," said Biden.
He has a long hill to climb and it is my guess that he will be better suited as a Vice Presidential Candidate for Obama or Clinton. Both of which seem to have the star power needed to amass campaign contributions for a successful 2008 Presidential run.
Former senator John Edwards of North Carolina is expected to announce his candidacy later this week. Edwards was the Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate in John Kerry's failed bid to unseat George W. Bush in 2004.
Joseph Biden believes he is the most experienced of all Democratic candidates, especially in foreign relations which is the committee he will oversee as Chairman in the next congress. It is hard to argue with that since he has been in the Senate since 1972.
In a recent trip to New Hampshire, Biden spoke out against President Bush's decision to send more US troops to Iraq, which he vowed to fight against.
