In a full-page advertisement in The Washington Post, Flynt asked for "documented evidence of illicit sexual or intimate relations with a Congressperson, Senator or other prominent officeholder." He said he would pay up to $1 million for material that could be verified and published in Hustler.

"Have you had a sexual encounter with a current member of the United States Congress or a high-ranking government official?" asks the ad. "Can you provide documented evidence of illicit sexual or intimate relations with a congressperson, senator or other prominent officeholder?

Flynt has been a defender of free speech for over 30 years. Flynt was sued by the late Jerry Falwell in 1988 for $50 million for a cartoon about losing his virginity. Flynt won the landmark case.
