Will Hillary Clinton be the Democratic Party 2008 Presidential Nominee?

by Thomas Jensen on Sunday, September 24th, 2006

Will Hillary Clinton be the Democratic Party 2008 Presidential Nominee? Many know Hillary Clinton as the women behind Bill Clinton.  She is the top runner for the presidential elections in 2008.  With Hillary Clinton for president, women will have a voice for once in history.  She basically ran office for her husband because he was too busy sleeping with his interns.  Since Bill has left office Hillary has become the Senator for New York. She has been serving her term since January 2001.  She has also been a lawyer and the First Lady of Arkansas.

Hillary has been very vocal in her political crusade even deciding to express her views and remain directly involved in national politics during her husband’s presidential run.  She became the first women to run for public office and to be elected to the U.S. Senate from New York.  She is running for re-election to the Senate in 2006 and is considered by many as the early front runner for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 2008.  Hillary Clinton for president would allow her to use her extensive knowledge in politics in order to make positive changes that would ultimately affect the way we live.

From the time Hillary was 16 she has been involved in politics.  At the age of 16 she campaigned for Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. In 1965 she enrolled at Wellesley College in Massachusetts where she became active in politics serving as president of the Wellesley College Chapter of the College Republicans. After attending the Wellesley at Washington program her political views became more liberal and she joined the Democratic Party.  She graduated in 1969 with departmental honors in Political Science.  She was the first student in the history of the school to deliver a commencement speech.  Her speech received a standing ovation and an article was written about her in Life magazine.  She met Bill during her years at Yale Law School which she attended immediately after graduation from Wellesley.

Her political career took off from there and she has since made a lasting impact.  Many believe the White House position has her name all over.  There shouldn’t even be an election.  It’s about time a woman has the opportunity to serve in office.  With Hillary’s experience, it’s almost a guarantee that she will win the votes and be accepted by all.  She can change the negative opinions some have about a woman being in a high ranked position.  With Hillary Clinton for president, I know I will be in good hands.  At least we know her husband won’t have a say!
