Carl Edwards has to be feeling good heading into this weekend's race, not only did he secure a top 10 Daytona 500 finish 
after starting 27th, but he also gets to return to a track where he has experienced some of his greatest success. While Edwards has proven his skills on numerous courses, his consistency as a driver has been best displayed at three places: Michigan, Atlanta, and Fontana.
In 11 career races at the Auto Club Speedway, Edwards has garnered one win, six top five (55 percent), and 10 top 10 finishes (91 percent). Last year Edwards, who drives the No. 99 Aflac Ford for Roush Fenway Racing, took seventh place in the Auto Club 500, despite starting 27th, and he took sixth at the Pepsi 500 in October, which also took place at the picturesque facility.
Denny Hamlin started last week's Daytona 500 in the 25 spot and he survived the late mess in order to secure a 17th place finish. Hamlin too should be excited about his prospects this weekend, even though he has not had the kind of success that Edwards has at the Auto Club. The Virginia native appears to be coming into his own at the track, where he finished sixth in last year's Auto Club 500 and took the pole in the Pepsi 500 (finished 37th, led 21 laps).
In eight career runs at Fontana, Hamlin has produced just one top five (13 percent) and three top 10s (38 percent); however, his No. 11 Toyota should not be discounted come Sunday.
Slight lean goes to Edwards here; ten top 10 finishes in 11 races is hard to ignore, especially at even odds.
