Kobalt Tools 500 Betting Odds: The Sprint Cup Series has made its way to the Peach State this weekend for the annual running of the Kobalt Tools 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The 330 lap affair is scheduled to go green at 1:00pm ET this afternoon on FOX. Busch, who has 16 career wins, took first place in the 2008 Kobalt Tools 500 (led 173 laps) and he has two top five and two top 10 finishes at the speedway in 11 career races there. Busch's No. 18 Joe Gibbs Toyota will start today's race on the outside of the front row, next to pole winner Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Jimmie Johnson, the defending Sprint Cup Champion, has won the last two races and he has three career wins in 17 runs at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The California native will have some serious ground to make up this afternoon, though, after qualifying 35th for today's race.
Other top contenders include Rick Hendrick teammates Jeff Gordon (+700) and Mark Martin (+700) as well as the aformentioned Earnhardt (+800), Kasey Kahne (+800), and current point leader Kevin Harvick (+900). Gordon, who start today's race in the five spot, has four wins and 14 top five finishes in 35 career outings at Atlanta. Earnhardt (1), Martin (2), Harvick (1), and Kahne (2) have all tasted success at the 50 year old track too, winning a combined six races at the historic venue.
