The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in Phoenix, Arizona this week for a Saturday night, under the lights race at Phoenix International Raceway. The Subway Fresh Fit 500 is set to begin at 8:00pm ET on the 18th and will be broadcast live on FOX. The current favorite to win the 500 mile, 500 lap race is none other than defending Sprint Cup champion, Jimmie Johnson. Johnson got off to a relatively slow start this season but he has roared through the cup standings the past few weeks. He has raced in 11 cup events at the track and recorded three wins, six top fives, and nine top 10 finishes. His average finish at the facility is an astounding 5.6. Last year he finished first in the April Phoenix race, leading 120 laps, and he also took the top spot in the November running (led 217 laps). Johnson has now raced in 262 cup events; he has recorded an amazing 41 wins (15.6 percent), 104 top fives (39.6 percent), and 161 top 10's (61.4 percent) in those outings.
