The Subway Fresh Fit 500 takes place tonight at 8:00pm ET at Phoenix International Raceway. The second night race of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season will be broadcast live on FOX. Veteran driver Jeff Burton will be looking for his first win since October of 2008 when the green flag drops tonight. Jeff Burton Subway Fresh Fit 500 Odds at Sportsbook.com are currently listed at +3000 on the moneyline. Jeff Burton enters this evening's event clinging to the last Chase spot in the cup standings. He is in 12th with a narrow 16 point lead over Juan Montoya. Burton has one top five finish this year and has busted the top 10 three times. Like his teammate, Kevin Harvick, Burton has been somewhat hindered by his poor starts, qualifying an average of 23.4 in the season's first seven races. He should have better luck tonight as he qualified respectable 16th. Burton, who drives the 31 Catepillar Chevy for Richard Childress Racing, had his best finish of the 2009 season in Las Vegas back in early March. The Virginia native took third place at the Shelby 427, but he also garnered his two top 10 runnings since that time. One of those took place two weeks ago in Texas when Burton started 15th and placed ninth at the Samsung 500. Burton should be in the mix at Phoenix as he has been a factor there in the past. In 19 races at the track, the 43 year old has won twice, finshed in the top five five times, and broke the top 10 on 11 occasions. Last year his average start position at the track (two races) was an abysmal 31.5, but his average placement was a remarkable 7.5.
