Indy 500 Predictions at online sportsbook BetUS.com have the iconic Danica Patrick listed at +900 money line odds to win the Indianapolis 500. Patrick finished fifth in the last IRL event, the Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 at Kansas Speedway on April 26th. Danica Patrick heads to Indy looking to recover from a 22nd place finish in last year's race. If history is any indication, the Illinois native should perform much better this weekend. In Patrick's other three races at the venerable speedway, she finished fourth once and eighth twice. Despite her mild success at Indy, Patrick never takes the massive 2.5 mile oval lightly. "It's different from every other track really because it's the kind of place that if a car isn't right, you cannot make it go fast," Patrick said. "You can't hustle it around. You just can't make it do it. If you do, quickly the car gets out of control and the track bites you." Patrick, who is starting from the 10th position, is hoping that her start is not indicative of where she will finish. In her first career race at Indy she started fourth and finished fourth. In order to avoid that precedent, Patrick always seeks the input of both fellow and former drivers. "The first year I came here, I took the advice from all the people around me, the people that have been here the most. The advice was to respect the track, to be patient, and I do that," Patrick said. "[But] I still ask opinions about what do I need to know about [Indy]." Michael Andretti, co-owner of Andretti Green Racing for which Patrick drives, has given plenty of advice to the 27 year old and believes that her skill, combined with her cooler temper, could lead to big things this weekend. "I think Danica has a legitimate shot at winning," Andretti said. "She's had her head on straight all year. Out of the car, she's just different. She's learning to deal with the pressure she's been under on and off the track." Patrick is sixth in the IRL points standings heading into Indy with 74; she trails teammate and points leader Tony Kanaan by 26. The Indianapolis 500 will take place at noon on Sunday, May 24th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The event will be televised live on ABC.
