With all the qualifying out of the way, now it's time to concentrate on who's the best bet to win the 2011 Indianapolis 500 this Memorial Day weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Three heavy hitters geting the top Indianapolis 500 Odds will sit on the front row led by first time pole sitter Alex Tagliani. Joining the Montreal native on the front row is New Zealander Scott Dixon and Spaniard Oriol Servia.
Also among the favorites is reining Indy 500 champion Dario Franchitti, who will be looking for back to back championships and his third overall. Franchitti has won the race in two of the last four years.
As of Wednesday morning, oddsmakers at most offshore sports shops list Dixon and Franchetti as co-favorites at +350 odds while pole sitter Tagliani is getting +550 and Servia +700.
Betting odds on Danica Patrick winning at Indy are +2500. Patrick is expected to move to NASCAR Sprint Cup racing by 2013 and will be running a partial Sprint Cup schedule in 2010 while also competing in NASCAR's Nationwide series.
For my Indy picks I'm torn between co-favorites Franchitti and Dixon getting +350. My favorite long-shot is former winner Paul Tracy at +5000.
