The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will celebrate the Fourth of July with a race under the lights at Daytona International Speedway. The 180 lap Coke Zero 400 is scheduled to take place this Saturday at 7:30pm ET; the event will be broadcast live on TNT. Online bookmaker Bodog.com has defending Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson listed at +900 on the moneyline in their NASCAR Coke Zero 400 Betting Odds. Jimmie Johnson did not have the best of luck at Daytona back in February. After earning a seventh place starting position, the three time Cup champion went on to finish a distant 31st in the rain shortened Daytona 500. In fact, he has not finished inside the top 20 in his last three outings at the legendary speedway as he came in 27th and 23rd in the two races there last season. Johnson, however, should always be considered a contender at the track. In 15 career races at the historic venue, he has two wins and six top five finishes to go along with 11 top 10 conclusions. The California native enters Saturday's race sitting third in the points standings, and he is now 169 points behind leader Tony Stewart after a ninth place showing in New Hampshire last weekend. Johnson, who has produced an average finish of 8.6 in his last five races, has two wins and seven top fives in 17 races this year. For his career, the Hendrick Motorsports driver has produced 42 wins in 272 cup races. Qualifying for the NASCAR Coke Zero 400 will take place Friday, July 3rd at 4:00pm ET. Odds are subject to change after the field has been set.
