Sprint Cup Race to the Cup Odds: Crunch time is approaching in this NASCAR season, as the Chase for the Cup cut looms around the corner. After an off-week the circuit hits the bricks Sunday when they run the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (1 pm Eastern, ESPN).

Sprint Cup Race to the Cup Odds - July 24 2010And Sportsbook.com , as usual, will be offering multiple betting opportunities for racing enthusiasts. Sportsbook is also still taking action on who will win this year's Sprint Cup championship.

Jimmie Johnson, the four-time defending Cup champion , went off this season as a +250 favorite on Sportsbook.com's Sprint Cup 2010 betting board. And as he sits in third place in the standings through the first 19 events, 188 points behind first-place Kevin Harvick. Johnson is now a +200 favorite on that board.

Harvick, who leads second-place Jeff Gordon by 103 points, began this season as a +3,000 longshot to win the Cup title. Now he's getting +900. Gordon went off at +800 to win the Cup this year, and he's been dropped slightly, to +600. Denny Hamlin, who runs in fourth place at -203, started this season getting +1,000 to win the Cup. As of Tuesday he's listed at +400.

Fifth-place Kurt Busch, at -221, began the season offered at +1,500 to win the Sprint Cup title. He's now getting +1,200. His brother Kyle, who sits in sixth place -257, went off this season listed at +800 on Sportsbook's Sprint Cup board. As of Tuesday morning Busch has been bet down to +450.

Seventh-place Jeff Burton has been dropped from +3,000 to +1,500; Eighth-place Matt Kenseth started off at +2,500, and he's still right there; Ninth-place Tony Stewart has been bet down slightly, at +1,000; Tenth-place Carl Edwards has been boosted from +1,000 to +2,500; 11th-place Greg Biffle has been bumped from +2,000 to +3,500; and 12th-place Clint Bowyer has been dropped a bit, from +3,000 to +2,500.

Bettors should remember, though, that the top 12 in the standings after the Richmond race (seven events from now) are re-seeded, according to wins, into the Chase for the Cup. And if that happened today Johnson and Hamlin would be tied for first place, each having won five races this year. Harvick and the Busch boys would be tied for third, each winning twice so far this year.
