NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing returns to Pocono Raceway Sunday (Aug 3) for the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 and the big news is; Kyle Busch isn’t the race favorite. That projection is on Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge, installed at 5/1 winning odds by online sportsbook Bodog (Bodoglife.com) . At 11/2 odds, last weeks winner at Indianapolis, Jimmie Johnson has the second best odds and is expected to be a strong runner at Pocono. Bodog has odds on Kyle Busch at 6/1.
Gamblers who follow Sprint Cup racing should take note that five of the past six races have been won from the front row with the race earlier this year the third in that stretch from the pole. Denny Hamlin has two wins from the pole; Kurt Busch two wins from the outside. Kahne, of Gillett Evernham Racing, won the first race at Pocono June 8 starting from the pole position.
