Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson Pocono Favorites; Newman on the Pole

Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson Pocono Favorites; Newman on the PoleRyan Newman, driving the Penske Alltel Dodge, will be on the Pole in the Pennsylvania 500 Nextel Race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Penn., when the green flag drops on Sunday (Jun 10), but oddsmakers only give him a 16/1 shot at winning the race. On the outside pole in the number two position is Denny Hamlin in the FedEx Chevrolet. Hamlin is expected to challenge for the checkered flag having been installed one of the favorites with 7/2 odds. 

On the inside of row two (3rd position) is last weeks Autism 400 winner  (Dover) Martin Truex in the DEI owned Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet. Truex is only given a 35/1 shot at winning inspite of last weeks win and his excellent performance in practice at Pocono. 

Hendrick Motosports teammates  Jeff Gordon in the Dupont Chevrolet and Jimmie Johnson driving the Loews Chevrolet are installed as race favorites both with 5/1 odds. Tony Stewart is also a race favorite with 7/1 odds.
