If Montoya wins on Sunday, he will become the first driver in history to win three road course races in the same season. Earlier this year Montoya won a Busch Series road-course event in Mexico City and a Cup Series road test at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., becoming only the third NASCAR driver to ever post two road-course wins in different series in the same year. The others are Ernie Irvan in 1992 at Infineon in the Cup Series and Watkins Glen in the Busch Series, and Darrell Waltrip in 1986 at Riverside in the Cup Series and Atlanta on the Busch circuit. Montoya will run both the Bush Series (Zippo 200 at the Glen) and Sunday’s Nextel Cup race. Montoya is a 7/2 odds favorite to win Saturday’s Bush race. Odds to win the Centurion Boats at the Glenn Nextel Cup Race Bobby Labonte 15/1 Boris Said 10/1 Carl Edwards 12/1 Casey Mears 15/1 Denny Hamlin 7/1 Greg Biffle 8/1 Jeff Burton 7/1 Jamie McMurray 22/1 Juan Pablo Montoya 4/1 Kevin Harvick 6/1 Kurt Busch 7/1 Marcos Ambrose 10/1 Matt Kenseth 14/1 Patrick Carpenter 15/1 Paul Menard 25/1 Robby Gordon 6/1 Ron Fellows 7/1 Ryan Newman 10/1 Scott Pruett 10/1 Stephen Leicht 10/1 Todd Kluever 12/1 Field( any other driver) 5/1 |
