England’s 3-0 victories over Russia and Israel have indicated that manager Steve McClaren has found the formula that can take the nation to next summer's Euro 2008 finals, but there will be some experienced players expecting a recall when the Three Lions host Estonia on October 13th, 2007. SportsBetting.com has made England 8 to 1 odds to win Euro 2008.
McClaren reaped a rich reward for starting with the same 11 players in both of the recent qualifiers, but Hills go 7-1 that he doesn't make any changes for the Estonia match. Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard, Owen Hargreaves and David Beckham may have rejoiced at England's ability to further their Euro 2008 qualifying prospects without them but they must also be concerned that their places are under threat.
Rooney is a near certainty to face Estonia and start for England on October 13. However, the Magic Sign offer evens about Frank Lampard and 6-4 about Owen Hargreaves returning to the heart of the England midfield. Gareth Barry has thrown down the gauntlet to both of these players and are most likely to face the Estonians in a central midfield positition.
Beckham's right flank berth may have been usurped following another excellent showing from Shaun Wright-Phillips and it is almost certain the LA Galaxy player starting against Estonia and small chance he doesn't.
