England skipper John Terry needs scan on kneeThe English Football Association has confirmed that England skipper John Terry will undergo a precautionary scan on a knee injury. England are 7 to 1 odds with internet sportsbook SBG Global to win Euro 2008. Terry is currently in the thick of the injury wars. He’s recovering from a toe injury and has been compelled to wear a protective mask on his cheekbone fracture inflicted when playing for Chelsea against Fulham last month.

The damage is not thought to be too serious, however, England coach Steve McClaren has instructed Terry to have the injury examined by medical experts. A diagnosis in anticipated this week. Meanwhile, Chelsea have unveiled former Ajax boss Henk Ten Cate as assistant first-team coach. The former Barcelona number two will work with Steve Clarke and under Avram Grant in west London.

A statement on the club's website, chelseafc.com, confirmed: "Chelsea football club can confirm that Henk ten Cate has joined as assistant first-team coach, and we would like to welcome him to the club."

The Dutchman quit his job as Ajax coach earlier this week.Chelsea said they had expect to finalise his contract within by the end of this week. Chelsea have agreed a compensation figure with Ajax. 52-year-old Ten Cate´s name came to the fore after a highly successful spell with Frank Rijkaard at Barcelona. The Catalan giants won the Spanish title and Champions League during that spell.
