Ferguson is not due back at United´s Carrington training ground until later this week until but the Scot has been alerted to Vidic's impending inclusion in his country's twice-postponed Euro 2008 qualifier against Kazakhstan. Europe´s soccer governing body, UEFA, have said that even though the match is a competitive one it now falls outside a FIFA allocated 'international window' after the heavy snowfalls that have hit Belgrade. As such, Serbia have no automatic right to hold onto the player after Wednesday's game versus Poland. This means Ferguson needs to decide whether to release Vidic. The big Serb would be many fans´ favourite to be involved in Saturday's Barclays Premier League game against Bolton. Ferguson´s decision is made more complicated by the fact that Serbia still have an outside chance of qualifying. But those chances will be folorn if Portugal get a draw in their home game with Finland. That result that will most probably see Vidic head back to Manchester to resume club duties. |
