The Real Madrid Merengues will play hosts on Match day 6 when the Italian S.S. Lazio visit the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on Tuesday December 11th for the last leg of the UEFA Champions League. Real Madrid is in search of securing a spot on their way towards the First Knock out round next February and promise to be something awful short of a welcoming party.BodogLife.com has Real Madrid listed at -275 with Lazio a whopping +750 dog. The draw of +330 doesn't seem a bad choice although not the one we'd suggest. If you like the spread type wagering the line for Lazio +1½ -140 is our choice since a one goal difference winner by Real Madrid is more likely then Real covering 2 goals to play a -1½+110 punt. Niether team has assured a fixture for the next round and both will be fighting to the finish, although under different circumstances. For S.S. Lazio (12th place in Italian Series A standings) a win on the road against the all mighty Real Madrid seems improbable but having to qualify to the next round with a win of two or more goals becomes a feat accomplishable only through large mishaps by Madrids players. But assuming that mishaps are improbable would be novice at best since even the "Galacticos" lose on occasion. Match day 5 was a fine example of it when they lost to Germany's Weder Bremen in a stunner. Manager Fabio Capello's team is ready and Dutch striker Rudd Van Nistelrooy promised to be in full strength for Tuesday's Match altough he had a minor calf soar against Atletico de Bilbao and was switched out for Guti. Nevertheless he insists he is ready for UEFA games and will not be absent. Since S.S. Lazio has the pressure to visit and win this game by two goals or more or by one goal with a win of Weder Bremen over Olimpiacos, on the same day it seems unlikely they will move on to the next round. Lazio comes off a 2 - 0 win over 11th place Catania this weekend and spirits are running high. Although this may be so, Real Madrid is home and hungry for points and success. Your choice, good luck.
