Struggling England have looked a long way from being world beaters but they should just about muster three vital Euro 2008 qualification points when they play Estonia in Tallinn today.
It's hard to know what is worse. Watching England toil fruitlessly against European minnows or being trapped in an elevator with your ex-mother-in-law after she has discovered that you've eloped with a 19 year old underwear model.
On paper Steve McLaren's men should trounce the Estonians but at Point-Spreads.com we believe that the Three Lions will have to bide their time before finding the back of the net. SportBet.com has England a -550 favorite in the match today.
That means the match being “level at half time and England to be winning at full time” very appealing.
Estonia have lost all of their six previous qualification games but were far from pushovers as they went down 0-1 to a quality Croatia side at the weekend. It should also be noted that the Estonians have only conceded five goals in four home games.
The Croatians toiled for long periods in Saturday's match with Estonia keeper Martin Poom showing some superb form between the posts.
Poom knows all about the England strikers having played in the Premiership for most of his career and it would be no surprise to see the former Derby, Sunderland and Arsenal man frustrate the English attack.
And lets not forget how England have struggled to score goals in recent times, they've managed just nine in six Euro 2008 qualifiers and significantly star striker Wayne Rooney will miss the game through suspension.
It all points to a thoroughly frustrating and wearisome evening but I think I´d just about rather take that over the elevator scenario.
SportBet.com has posted European Football betting odds on the UEFA Euro Qualifiers:
