Rumours from the English Premier League suggest that Barcelona has edged ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Thierry Henry and that the Arsenal forward will start the next season at Camp Nou.
That's dreadful news for Aresenal who's odds for next year's Premiership are sure to drift north of the current +655 odds with Bodog.com but amazing news for bettors of Barcelona who would surely have too much for Real Madrid next season with Thierry Henry in the team.
Henry's agent Jerome Anderson continues to deny contact between his client and Barcelona and has initiated legal proceedings against France Football for reporting that a meeting was held between himself and Barca sporting director Txiki Beguiristain.
However, despite these proceedings, there remains a strong belief that Barcelona's charm offensive will eventually pay off.
Ronaldinho and Lilian Thuram have both recently expressed the hope that Henry will sign for the Catalans this month, while Henry has neither confirmed nor denied that he is set to end his spell in north London.
However, if money talks, Henry could be close to joining the club which he turned down last summer.
While the chances of a move to Barca have increased, the prospect of a switch to Merseyside appears not to be out of the question either.
In the UK there have been serious gambles on Thierry Henry to join Liverpool. The Reds are +550 to win next season's Premiership with Bodog.com
It appears more certain that Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has played the last game for his club but there could be plenty of competition among potential suitors.
Manchester United leading the betting with Liverpool also fancied to sign Torres.
