2010 Australian Open Odds: The first Grand Slam of the 2010 tennis schedule is just around the corner as the Australian Open gets underway on January 18th in Melbourne, Australia. The final will be played on January 31st at the Rod Laver Arena. The current favorite to win the event in Sportsbook.com 's 2010 Australian Open Odds is the world's top ranked player, Roger Federer, at +200 moneyline odds.

Roger Federer, who will be competing in his 11th Australian Open, made the final at last year's event, but fell to Spaniard 2010 Australian Open OddsRafael Nadal 5-7, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 2-6. Federer dispatched a number of quality players in route to his meeting with Nadal, including Juan Martin Del Potro in the quarterfinals and Andy Roddick in the semis.

The Swiss born Federer has won the Australian Open three times (2004, 2006, 2007). He has been eliminated in the semi-final round two times and the runner-up just once (last year). Federer, who lost his No. 1 ranking to Nadal in August of 2008 — a position he had held since February of 2004 —  regained the top spot in June of last year after winning his first French Open title.

Both Nadal and Argentina native Juan Martin Del Potro, who are ranked No. 2 and No. 4 in the world, respectively, are listed at +400 moneyline odds to win the 2010 Australian Open. Nadal, who will be competing in his sixth Aussie Open, has six Grand Slam titles to his credit. The 21 year old Del Potro captured his first major last year after beating Federer in the final of the U.S. Open in August.
