2010 Australian Open Betting Odds: Andy Roddick will look to advance to the fourth round of the Australian Open for the seventh time in the last eight years as he meets Spaniard Feliciano Lopez tonight at the Rod Laver Arena. First serve between the two players is scheduled for 8:30pm ET. 2010 Australian Open Betting Odds at online bookmaker BetUS.com have Roddick listed as a -1200 moneyline favorite to take out Lopez.
Andy Roddick improved his match record to 7-0 this year by eliminating Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 on
Wednesday. Roddick overpowered Bellucci with his big serve, hitting on 80 percent of his first shot while scoring 11 aces. The 27 year old American also played relatively mistake free, hitting just 13 unforced errors compared to 39 from the Brazilian.
Roddick has made it to the quarterfinals or better in five of his last seven trips to Melbourne. His worst performance at the event since falling in the second round at his inaugural event (2002) came in 2008 when he fell in the third round to Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Feliciano Lopez advanced to the third round of play after taking care of German Rainer Schuettler in four sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 earlier this week. Lopez, who fell in the first round of last year's Australian Open, beat Schuettler despite winning on just 48 percent of his first serves and committing 53 unforced errors. The 28 year old Madrid resident overcame his mistakes by hitting 42 winners compared to Schuettler's 27.
Lopez, who is presently ranked 46 in men's singles by the ATP, has never made it past the third round at Melbourne in seven previous Aussie Open appearances.
