Scotsman Andy Murray knocked off Four-time Dubai Champion Roger Federer 6-7 6-3 6-4 in the first round of the 2008 Barclays Dubai Tennis Championship tourney, this was the first time Federer lost a first round match since 2004. Andy Murray, ranked 11th in the world, now takes on, 5th seeded, Nikolay Davydenko. Murray currently has a 10-2 singles record this year while Davydenko is 9-3.
