Much to the chagrin of the men's field, Rafael Nadal appears to have regained his health and tennis game as the season 
heads into its second major. The Spaniard has been in dominant form of late, winning his last three tournaments at Monte Carlo, Rome, and Madrid (all on clay by the way) while leaving such players as Roger Federer, Gael Monfils, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Fernando Verdasco, and David Ferrer in his wake.
Nadal, who has moved into the number two spot in the ATP rankings, will be looking for his fifth French Open title and seventh Grand Slam when he begins play tomorrow. The 23 year old had won four in a row at Roland Garros before being eliminated in the fourth round last year by eventual runner-up Robin Soderling.
Paris resident Gianni Mina will be playing in just his second professional match when he takes on Nadal in the morning. Mina, who will turn 18 years old in September, is 0-1 in match play after falling to Lukasz Kubot 5-7, 4-6 at Nice, France earlier this month.
Mina, who is ranked 653 in men's singles, should have a short lived Grand Slam debut against the clay master Nadal.
