Roddick, who made it to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, is 27-6 this year after his first round win. If he is able to win the French Open, it will be just the second Grand Slam title of his career.
Ivo Minar, who hails from Prague, Czech Republic, is currently the 85th ranked ATP men's singles player. He is 2-4 this year after beating Spaniard Oscar Hernandez 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 in the first round. The victory marked just the third time that the 25 year old Minar has advanced past the first round in a Grand Slam event.
Minar, who also relies heavily on his serve, scored nine aces against Hernandez. He managed to get 55 percent of his first serves in play and he had four double faults in the match.
