Roland Garros 2009: BetUS.com's Gilles Simon vs Victor Hanescu Betting Odds have the Frenchman Simon listed as a -225 money line favorite in his morning match with Hanescu.

Gilles Simon, who is 18-16 in singles play this year, advanced to the third round of the French Open for the first itme in his professional career. Simon beat American Wayne Odesnik 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 4-6 in the first round of action and took out another U.S. combatant, Robert Kendrick, 7-5, 6-0, 6-1 in the second round.

Simon, currently the seventh ranked men's singles player, has no Grand Slam wins, but he does have five singles titles on his record. This year marks just the second time that Simon has made it past the first round at Roland Garros (five French Open appearances).

Victor Hanescu of Romania will face Simon after beating Steve Darcis 7-6, 7-6, 7-6 in the first round of play and getting past Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the second round 7-5, 7-5, 7-5. Hanescu, who is presently the 33rd ranked men's singles player, had 14 aces in his first two rounds of action; he landed 69 percent of his first serves in play.

Hanescu is 9-15 this season in singles action and 105-120 for his career. He has no Grand Slam titles, but he did make a quarterfinals appearance at Roland Garros in 2005.

Simon vs Hanescu are set to play at 5:00am ET on Friday, May 29th on Suzanne Lenglen Court.
