Dinara Safina continued her pummeling of French Open opposition yesterday morning, recording another easy straight sets victory, this time against fellow Russian Anatasia Pavlyuchenkova. Safina won the match 6-2, 6-0 and is now a collective 36-4 in her Roland Garros 2009 sets.
The 23 year old, who has never won a Grand Slam title, appears to be riding a freight train of momentum to her second consecutive French Open final. Should she win this year's tournament, it will be her 12th career singles title.

"She is playing good [but] I'll play how I play," Safina said. "I play aggressive, and I'm going for my shots. We'll see who's going to be stronger."
Aravane Rezai, presently the 57th ranked women's player, has made it to the fourth round of the French Open for the first time in her career. The St. Etienne, France native was eliminated in the first round the last two years.
Rezai's making it past the third round has not only surprised spectators, it has astounded her as well.
"I'm very surprised (on making it to the fourth round), but I keep winning and I'm very happy," Rezai said. "I try to be focused every match, and that's what I have to continue. Every match is difficult and every match is important, so I will try to continue this way."
The 22 year old, who has been playing professionally since 2005, beat 16 year old Michelle Larcher De Brito in the third round 7-6, 6-2. She certainly did her part to advance, scoring 29 winners, but she also benefited from 12 double faults on the part of De Brito.
