Andy Roddick is back in action after he withdrew from the Nice Open in France and pulled out of the 2011 French Open. Roddick returned to action, for the grass court season, at the 2011 AEGON Championships, or Queens Club, where he is a four-time champion. He played his first match against Feliciano Lopez and gutted out a tough 7-6(7-2), 6-7(5-7), 6-4. In the third round, he played South African Kevin Anderson and defeated him 6-4 6-4. In the quarterfinals, Roddick played Fernando Verdasco, and defeated him 6-2 6-2. In the semifinals, Roddick played Andy Murray, their first meeting since the Wimbledon 2009 semifinals, but was defeated 3-6 1-6. At the 2010 Wimbledon Championships Roddick was seeded fifth which was two spots higher than his ATP ranking of seven. He was stunned in the fourth round by Lu Yen-hsun of Taiwan in five sets, losing 6–4, 6–7(3), 6–7(4), 7–6(5), 7–9. Like his final match with Roger Federer the previous year, his serve was broken only once during the match, in the fifth set.
Andres Beck is a four time winner on the ATP Challenger circuit and a four time runner-up. Three of his wins were on hard court and doesn’t play well on grass. His best finish was a second round defeat at the 2010 Wimbledon.
