Frenchman Adrian Mannarino came back to defeat qualifier Conor Niland 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(7), 4-6, 6-4 in four hours. The 22-year-old Mannarino reached The Queen's Club quarter-final two weeks ago, posting wins over Ernests Gulbis, Gilles Simon and Juan Martin del Potro before losing to James Ward.
