It took Nadal 2hrs and 20 minutes to sweep by Andreas Beck 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (7-0). Beck didn’t really stand a chance considering he had to qualify just to get into this tournament. Ernest Gulbis is making his second appearance at the All England Club, in 2007 he was knocked out in the first round. Beck is 13-12 with no titles in four years on the ATP circuit. He’s only 20 years old, so he has time to improve on his career. At the 2008 Australian Open he lost in the first round to Marat Safin, his best finish was at the 2008 French Open where he made it to the quarter finals only to lose to Novak Djokovic. On his way to the quarters he beat Simon Greul, James Blake, Nicolas Lapentti and Michael Llodra.
