2009 Wimbledon Odds: Venus Williams continued her Wimbledon domination on Thursday, scoring another easy, straight sets victory. She will now attempt to reach the fourth round of the Championships for the 10th time in 13 opportunities when she faces Carla Suarez Navarro tomorrow morning. Oddsmaker at Bodog.com are anticipating that she will do just that as she is listed as a -3000 moneyline favorite in their 2009 Wimbledon Odds. Venus Williams continued her quest for a third straight Wimbledon title on Wednesday as she took out Ukranian Kateryna Bondarenko 6-3, 6-2. Williams, who is now 23-6 in singles matches this year, had six aces to Bondarenko's zero and she also produced 13 more winners than her competition. Williams, despite the lopsided score, believed the match was good preparation as she looks to advance deep into the tournament. "She put a lot of balls back in play so we had some longer rallies," Williams said. "[I] always felt like I needed to be the agressive one and really take control of the point. So that's really how I want to play throughout the championships. A good match for me." Twenty year old Carla Suarez Navarro improved her 2009 singles record to 21-16 after beating Russian Ekaterina Makarova in three sets on Wednesday (7-5, 4-6, 6-1). The hard fought win came on the heels of a first round upset of 25th ranked Kaia Kanepi (4-6, 6-3, 6-3). Suarez Navarro, who is 34th in the WTP rankings, is playing in her sixth Grand Slam. The promising performer has reached the third round in four of the six majos she has participated in. Williams and Suarez Navarro are scheduled to begin play at approximately 6:00am CDT on Saturday morning. 2009 Wimbledon Odds: Venus Williams vs Carla Suarez Navarro Venus Williams -3000 Carla Suarez Navarro +1000 Bet on sports at online sportsbook Bodog.com and receive a 10% Deposit Bonus and start winning today! |
