Novak Djokovic reached the quarterfinals for a second straight year at Wimbledon and for the third time in six appearances 
at the event with a fourth round victory against Australia's Lleyton Hewitt. Djokovic took out the former Wimbledon champion 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 after hitting nine aces and 41 winners. The Serbian's sharp placement proved to be the difference as Hewitt matched him in almost every other area.
The Twenty-three year old Djokovic, who won the Australian Open in 2008, may be overdue for his second major. Djokovic has not reached the finals at a major since his win in Melbourne; however, he has been to the quarterfinals or better in seven of his nine Grand Slam appearances since securing that first title.
Yen-Hsun LU stunned Andy Roddick on Monday by upsetting the fifth seeded American 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4),6-7 (5-7), 9-7. The Chinese Taipei product and Roddick played an almost even match, as the score would suggest; LU had 34 unforced errors to Roddick's 33 and 83 winners to the American's 85. Roddick, however, was just 1-for-8 on break point conversions, leaving him short of the Wimbledon quarterfinals for just the third time in the last eight years.
LU's strong run is certainly the biggest surprise of the tournament thus far. The 26 year old was elminated in the first round of play at Wimbledon from 2006 to 2009, and he had never reached the fourth round of play at a Grand Slam until this week (18 appearances).
