2009 Wimbledon Odds: Dinara Safina will square off against Wimbledon stalwart Venus Williams tomorrow morning in the tournament's semifinal round. Williams, who has won three of the last four All England Lawn Tennis Championships, is being listed as a -550 moneyline favorite in Bodog.com's Dinara Safina vs Venus Williams 2009 Wimbledon Odds. 
Dinara Safina advanced to the semifinals in her fourth straight Grand Slam — and for the first time at Wimbledon — by beating Germany's Sabine Lisicki on Tuesday 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. The Russian managed to win despite having nine more double faults than Lisicki and 10 fewer winners. Safina also had no aces while the German had 12.
Safina, who is now 42-8 in singles this season, has labored through many of her matches while Williams has won every one in straight sets. Williams game at Wimbledon is not lost on the top ranked Safina, but she is ready for the challenge nonetheless.
"This is her best surface [and] she loves playing at Wimbledon," Safina said of her 2009 Wimbledon Odds challenger. "You know, I just want to go out there. I have nothing to lose. You know, go out there, play the way I can play…I played her in Rome and beat her in Rome. So I know what she's doing. I know her weapons. I have my weapons. So I just want to go out there, play my best and let's see."
Venus Williams, who is going for her sixth Wimbledon title, reached the semifinals at the Championship for the eighth time by taking out 11th ranked Aqnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 6-2 on Tuesday morning. Williams dominated the match, scoring five aces to Radwanska's zero; she also produced 23 more winners than did the Polish national.
Williams, who has never been beat in the semifinals at Wimbledon, indicated that she is counting on her familiarity with the late round proceedings at the event to carry her through tomorrow's match with Safina.
"She (Safina) has the top ranking," Williams said. "But I have more experience in this tournament and more success."
Tomorrow's match between Safina and Williams is scheduled to get underway at 7:00am CDT.
