Don’t expect any semi-final shocks in the men’s singles at Roland Garros with Rafael Nadal a heavy favourite at -1300 odds to get past Novak Djokovic in the French Open. Those sort of odds on Nadal are a long way from a working man’s kind of price. The Mallorcan gypsy with biceps like Popeye has been in top form in Paris and Point-Spreads.com sees no reason why he won’t win this match to love. True, Djokovic is a very high class opponent and is now ranked 5th in the world but he simply won’t be able to live with a pumped up Nadal eyeing a place in the final of his favourite tournament. The way he toyed with Lleyton Hewitt and Carlos Moya in previous rounds was frightening and this Spanish matador can be reliably expected to slay the young Serbian bull on Friday’s French Open match up. The other semi sees Roger Federer takes on Nikolay Davydenko and it would be a huge surprise if the Swiss strokemaker came unstuck against the Russian greyhound. Federer will be looking to kill off his opponent in quick time and conserve as much energy as he can for what will be Sunday’s final against Nadal. A 3-0 win for Federer is chalked up at a general 8/13 and should be backed. Both matches start at 7:00 AM EST on Friday June 8th, 2007. SportsBet.com has posted tennis betting odds on the French Open 2007 at Roland Garros: ROGER FEDERER –800 vs. NIKOLAY DAVIDENKO +520 NOVAK DJOKOVIC +600 vs. RAFAEL NADAL –1300 |
