The 25th ranked Miami Hurricanes will look to keep things rolling tonight as they welcome the top ranked Duke Blue Devils to the Bank United Center in South Florida. This evening’s ACC clash between the Canes and Blue Devils is scheduled to get underway at 7:00pm ET on ESPN. The latest NCAAB Point Spreads have Duke listed as a -2.5 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 129.5 points.
Duke enters tonight’s game a near perfect 16-1 and ranked No. 1 in the country, but it sits second in the ACC standings with a 3-1 conference record. First place belongs to their opponent this evening, the Miami Hurricanes.
The 13-3 Canes have a suspect loss or two on their record, but they are undefeated in league play, notching wins over Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Maryland, and Boston College. Miami last played on Wednesday, January 16th at Boston College where it just escaped with a 60-59 win against the 9-9 Eagles (1-4 ACC). The Hurricanes shot just 41.5 percent and got a total of seven points from their bench in getting past BC.
Duke bounced back from its first loss of the season, an 84-76 setback on January 12th at North Carolina State, with a 73-57 home win over Georgia Tech last Thursday. The Blue Devils limited the Yellow Jackets to 37.9 percent field goal shooting and nailed 47.6 percent of their three point attempts in the double digit victory. Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry led the way for Coach Krzyzewski; Curry scored 24 points thanks to a 6-for-7 effort from beyond the arc while Plumlee finished the game with a 16 point, 13 rebound double double.
Duke has won eight of the last 10 games in this series, but the Hurricanes did take the most recent meeting. Miami knocked off the Blue Devils 78-74 last February at the Bank United Center. The Hurricanes were a 12 point underdog in that contest. Duke, playing as a nine point favorite, defeated the Hurricanes 81-71 at Cameron Indoor the previous February.
