The West Virginia Mountaineers will attempt to right their course tonight against red hot Big East buzz saw, Villanova. The Wildcats have clawed their way into conference title contention with their recent run while the Mountaineers have fallen by the wayside after losing four of their last six games. The contest is set to get under at 9:00pm ET at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, WV and it can be seen live on ESPN.Villanova vs West Virginia College Basketball Picks

Despite the Wildcats stellar play, Villanova vs West Virginia college basketball picks at Bodoglife.com are still favoring the Mountaineers -4.5 against the spread.

Thirteenth ranked Villanova comes into tonight's game sporting an 8-3 Big East record and a 20-4 overall mark. The Wildcats are in third place in the conference standings, but just a game back of the three teams log jammed at second place (Pittsburgh, Marquette, and Louisville). They have reeled off six straight wins, including victories over Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Marquette. Their latest outing was a 102-84 drubbing of the Golden Eagles at The Pavilion in Villanova, PA.

Marquette shot the ball well, but they could not keep up with the Wildcats, who pumped in 13-of-24 from three point range and 37-of-63 from the field. Jay Wright saw five of his players score in double figures, including guards Scottie Reynolds and Cory Fisher, who dropped in 27 and 21 points respectively. The two players combined to hit seven of their eight shots from beyond the arc.

Forward Dante Cunningham, who leads the team in scoring at 17 per game, added 15 points and four rebounds in the big win.

The Wildcats are 5-2 on the road this season and while they score a respectable 78.1 per game in opposing venues, they also give up 73 per contest to host squads.

Unlike Villanova, West Virginia enters this evening's conference tilt with little momentum. The Mountaineers, who are 5-6 in Big East action and 16-8 overall, have had a rough go of late, losing their last three conference road games. However, they have been solid at home, and since losing to Pittsburgh at the WVU Coliseum on January 25th, they have dropped St. John's (75-52) and Providence (86-59) in Morgantown.

West Virgina's last game did not go according to plan as the Panthers, again, wrecked the Mountaineers, this time by a score of 70-59 in Pittsburgh. West Virginia competed adequately in almost all phases of the game, expect on the glass. Pittsburgh outrebounded Bob Huggins team 36-21.

Huggins troops are 9-2 in home games and they play a suffocating brand of defense at the Coliseum. Opponents have averaged just 56 points per game against West Virginia in Morgantown, while the Mountaineers have dropped in an average of 75.8 per contest.

Bodoglife.com's Villanova vs West Virginia College Basketball Picks:

Villanova Wildcats +4.5 (-110)

West Virginia Mountaineers -4.5 (-110)
