Miss Maine Katie Whittier is a former basketball player for Gray-New Gloucester High School and the University of Maine at Orono. This background instilled a fierce sense of competition in the beauty queen. This girl is in it to win it! Miss Maine hasn’t had much experience in pageants though. The Miss Main 2010 Pageant was her first where she beat out 15 other contestants. Her biggest accomplishment was trading in her sneakers and learning to walk on stiletto high heels confidently. She’s been training non-stop since November for The Miss USA competition.
The blonde beauty definitely stands out from the rest of her competitors. She’s 6 feet, 2 inches tall and admits she’s had trouble finding a proper wardrobe for her time in Vegas.
Celebrity chef, Curtis Stone, will host the competition. The 59th annual Miss USA Pageant is set for live broadcast Sunday night on NBC.
