 It's that time of the year again folks, the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant. The Miss Universe Pageant brings all its Glitz and Glamour to host country Vietnam. The large scale pageant is getting ready to take to the airwaves July 14th with 80 contestants. Online entertainment betting website BetUS.com has made Miss Venezuela Dayana Mendoza the +500 odds favorite to be crowned Miss Universe 2008.

I am going to bet on Dayana Mendoza for sure at +500 odds because Mendoza knows how to be calm in a stressful situation and being up on that stage next to Donald Trump would be very stressful.”

It is comprised of over 1,000 precious stones; including 555 white diamonds (30 carats), 375 cognac diamonds (14 carats), 10 smoky quartz crystals (20 carats) and 19 morganite gemstones (60 carats). Whoa, the lucky lady to be wearing that better have a full entourage to protect the crown.
Jerry Springer and former Spicy Girl Mel B will MC the spectacle of the event at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

There has also been some withdraws and no shows from the Miss Universe 2008 pageant. Bulgaria, Chile, Lebanon, Namibia, Northern Mariana Islands, and Sweden have all withdrawn from the pageant. Barbados, Belize, Guyana, U.S. Virgin Islands and Zambia did not even show up. A few countries also had replacement contestants go in. France replaced Valerie Begue with Laura Tanguy after scandalous photos of Begue were released. Russia and Spain also had switch ups in their contestants.
Overall this year seems to be a very promising and interesting contest and fight for the crown of Miss Universe 2008. The live telecast will be on July 14th on NBC and Telemundo. Now all you can do is wait to see out of 80 entrants, who has what it takes to be Miss Universe 2008.
