The Cardinals and Panthers were the top two teams in the NFC all season long so it is only fitting that they should meet in Sunday’s conference championship. Arizona and Carolina are schedule to take the field at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte at 6:40pm ET on January 24; coverage of the game will be provided by FOX.

The latest 2016 NFC Championship Game odds from offshore bookmaker Bovada.lv have the hosting Panthers lined as a -3.5 favorite in the conference decider.

Carolina finished with an NFL best 15-1 record this season and it scored a seven-point Divisional Round victory over the defending NFC Champion Seahawks on Sunday. The Panthers led 31-0 at the break, but Seattle battled back in the second half, scoring 24 unanswered points of its own.

The Seahawks outgained the Panthers 403 yards to 295 in the loss and they limited Cam Newton to three yards on 11 carries. However, a 19 carry, 106 yards, two touchdown day from running back Jonathan Stewart, as well as a +2 turnover margin, helped tilt the game in Carolina’s favor.

Arizona’s Divisional showdown with Green Bay was far more tense in nature as the Packers tied the game 20-20 at the end of regulation with a dramatic Hail Mary conversion. Their joy was short-lived, though, as the Cardinals needed just three plays in the extra frame to score a game winning touchdown.

The Cardinals have their work cut out for them this Sunday as the Panthers are a perfect 9-0 at home this season and 12-0 at Bank of America Stadium dating back to the 2014 season.

However, if any team is capable of handling the unfriendly confines in Charlotte, it’s Arizona. The Cardinals are 15-10 away from home since Bruce Arians assumed head coaching duties in 2013 and they 7-1 in their last eight away games. Arizona has also won five straight road games, beating the Browns, Seahawks, 49ers, Rams and Eagles by an average of 14.8 points per game.

NFL Betting Trends:

The Panthers are 4-1 straight up and 1-4 against the spread in their last five games playing as a home favorite of -3 or more when coming off a home win.

Arizona is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games playing as an underdog when coming off a game in which it scored 25 or more points.
