Super Bowl 51 Odds

The New England Patriots will look to extend their current winning streak to 10 games when they meet the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston, but, more importantly, the franchise is hoping to secure its fifth Lombardi Trophy. Offshore bookmaker Bovada.lv likes the Pats chances, making them a -3 against the spread and -150 moneyline favorite ($150 wins $100) in its latest Super Bowl 51 Odds.

The total in the championship clash is set at 59.5 points and Atlanta is drawing a +130 moneyline to win the franchise’s first Lombardi.

New England earned its ninth Super Bowl trip, and the seventh of the Brady/Belichick era, with impressive playoff wins over the Texans and Steelers. Prior to the Patriots seemingly easy postseason run, they dispatched the Broncos, Jets and Dolphins by an average of 24 points per game. In fact, New England has not won a game by fewer than five points since Brady returned from suspension on October 9.

So if one expects the Patriots to win next weekend, taking them at -3 seems like a no-brainer. However, the Falcons are no pushover and three of their five losses this season came by three or fewer points.

And Atlanta also has some steam coming into Super Bowl 51, having won six straight games, including dominating playoff performances against both the Seahawks and Packers.

The Falcons feature the NFL’s most dangerous offense as well, averaging 415.8 yards and 33.8 points per game during the regular season. Atlanta boosted those numbers to 457.5 and 40, respectively, in postseason wins over Seattle and Green Bay.

Suffice it to say New England has not faced an opponent this season as explosive as Atlanta nor a quarterback as efficient as Matt Ryan. Ryan led the NFL with a 117.1 passer rating and he averaging a league best 9.3 yards per pass while throwing 38 touchdowns to just seven interceptions.

Super Bowl 51 is set to kick off at 6:30pm ET on Sunday, February 5; the game will be broadcast live on FOX.
