The Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears close out the Week 8 NFL schedule tomorrow evening’s with a prime-time clash in the Windy City. The latest ESPN Monday Night Football Odds from offshore bookmaker Bovada.lv are favoring the 5-1 Vikings at -5 against the spread. The total in tomorrow’s game is at 40.5 points.

Last weekend was a forgettable one for the Vikings, who suffered their first loss of the season in humiliating fashion. Minnesota’s defense, which ranks first in the league in both points and yards per game allowed, played outstanding, allowing just 15 first downs and 239 total yards, but the strong effort was not enough.

The Vikings offense turned in a haphazard performance, giving up six sacks, losing three of its five fumbles and throwing an interception.

The result: a 21-10 loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia and questions about whether or not Sam Bradford can remain in one piece for the entirety of the season given how many hits he is taking.

Minnesota will get a bit of a reprieve this weekend, though. The Bears defense is average at best, ranking 20th and 12th in points and yards per game allowed, respectively.

And if the Vikings had a forgettable week, Chicago has had a forgettable season. The Bears have been well below average on offense where injuries and poor quarterback play have resulted in an NFL worst 15.9 points per game average and a 1-6 record.

That number does not figure to improve with the Vikings stonewalling defense manning Solider Field tomorrow night. In fact, not much has gone right for the Bears when they’ve faced the Vikings lately.

Minnesota has won three straight and four of the last five in the divisional series, holding Chicago to an average of 17.4 points per game in the process.

ESPN Monday Night Football Betting Trend: The Vikings are 11-3 against the spread when coming off a loss since the 2014 season.
