Odds to Win the 2016 Masters

The 2016 Masters will tee off in less than a month (Thursday, April 7) and everyone is wondering if 22-year-old Jordan Spieth can earn a second consecutive Green Jacket. The golf odds makers at Bovada.lv like his chances, but they favor another over the phenom. And that would be Rory McIlroy according to the offshore bookmaker’s latest odds to win the 2016 Masters.

McIlroy is drawing +600 odds as the overall favorite while Spieth is getting +650 odds to retain the Green Jacket. Following that dynamic duo on Bovada’s board are Jason Day, Adam Scott and Bubba Watson.

Day, who finished second to Spieth on last year’s PGA Tour Money List, is a +900 pick to win his second major (won the 2015 PGA Championship). Scott and Watson, who have combined to win three of the last four Masters, are getting +1000 and +1100 odds, respectively, to claim this year’s title.

Hovering just outside the top five favorites is Phil Mickelson at +1800 odds. Lefty made a hard charge at last year’s Masters, coming four strokes shy of lassoing his fourth Green Jacket with a 14 under par 270. The score was good enough to tie for second with Justin Rose.

And we would be remiss not to mention Tiger Woods, who for so long owned the top spot on every odds leaderboard regardless of the event. He is a +5000 pick ($100 wins $5000) to claim his fifth Green Jacket at Augusta next month. Woods last won the Masters in 2005, but he has placed in the top six at the Masters seven times over the last 10 years.
