A man was sentenced to five years for robbing bookmaker Ladbrokes with a vibrator. Twenty seven year old Nicki Jex of Braunstone, Leicester hid the sex toy in a bag as he pretended it was a gun. The manager in the Narborough Road branch of Ladbrokes handed the bandit more than £600 in cash back in December 2006 during the robbery. The entire incident was recorded on closed circuit TV inside the betting shop."It's right to record that you did not have a firearm but you pretended you had and intended that those you confronted believed that you did, and it must have been truly terrifying for them at the time," stated Judge Philip Head at the sentencing hearing. Initially Nicki Jex denied any wrongdoing, but later changed his plea to guilty. The robber was followed from the betting shop by Wayne Vakani, a Ladbrokes customer that was inside while the robbery took place. Wayne followed Nicki from Ladbrokes to a nearby pub. At one point Nicki Jex pointed his girlfriend’s Rampant Rabbit sex toy at Wayne Vakani telling him to back off. While at the pub, Jex was overheard bragging to his mates how he robbed the bookmaker. |
